Tonight, Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton will face off in the final official presidential debate of the 2016 election.
This debate could prove critical for Trump and Clinton, but even more is at stake for the entire nation. A major misstep by Clinton in this debate could dramatically erode her gains from the last few weeks, whilst a major blunder by Trump could seal Clinton’s victory in November.
I will be live-blogging my reactions to the debate on this post, starting at 9pm EST (6pm PST).
The debate itself is free to watch – a live stream provided by YouTube and NBC is embedded below for your convenience.

And we’re live!
Supreme Court is the first topic. YES. Good choice, Chris Wallace.
Mrs. Clinton, the Supreme Court doesn’t need to stand on the side of the American people – it needs to stand on the side of the Constitution, the rule of law, and justice.
Trump doesn’t think Clinton will win, but the polls show otherwise.
Trump will appoint pro-life justices? Give me a break. He said he would appoint his sister to the Supreme Court. National Review called Trump’s sister “a pro-abortion extremist judge.”
Clinton supports the Second Amendment? Give me another break.
Oh, I see. The District just wanted to “protect toddlers” by effectively banning all private ownership of firearms.

Trump completely dodged a question about his inconsistencies on the Second Amendment.
Trump: “I am pro-life.” LOL.
Trump is unable to unambiguously state that he wants Roe v. Wade overturned, even when pressed multiple times. This guy is not for real. Pro-lifers, research Trump’s background. He’s been virulently pro-choice and supported partial birth abortion, and has only very recently flipped to become pro-life. He’s not reliable or consistent.
Clinton is pro-choice, and y’all know where I stand on that.
Even under Roe v. Wade, states may prohibit partial birth abortions. Clinton would strip the states of that power.
For once, Trump is absolutely right. Partial birth abortion is evil, wicked, and wrong.
ICE has NOT endorsed Trump. He’s still repeating a long-since debunked claim.
Amnesty is NECESSARY. Deportation would destroy our nation’s sagging finances.
Hillary is 100% right on deportation: it is completely impractical.
Hillary is also for border security – that’s something Trumpers don’t seem to recognize.
Mindlessly repeating the words “wall, wall, wall” doesn’t mean you’re going to be good for border security.
NAFTA was not a bad trade deal. Free trade across the North American continent has been extremely beneficial for all parties involved.
Trump is dead wrong – Clinton is not at all for open borders on immigration.
Trump is right – Clinton improperly pivoted off of immigration onto Wikileaks.
Both sides are getting off good shots on Wikileaks and Russia. They seem about even on this issue.
You have to feel at least a little bad for the moderators of these debates.
Moving on to the economy…
Trump had a chance to repudiate his ties to Russia. He didn’t.

Clinton’s economic plan is very liberal, and appeals well to the Democratic base. In that, she’s doing well.
Trump says he will bring us “a lot of free trade.”
Sorry, Clinton, but more government is not the answer for an economic crisis.
Trump is blasting NAFTA. NAFTA has been one of the best things that has happened for our economy in the last century.
Trump is for free trade, but against the North American Free Trade Agreement.
Clinton is absolutely right. Trump’s crocodile tears on trade are incredibly hypocritical when he buys from China and he manufactures in China and Mexico.
Moving on to “fitness to be president of the United States.”
The first question is for Trump, on his immorality.
Trump says the accusers’ stories are made up by the Clinton campaign to smear him.
“I didn’t even apologize to my wife because I didn’t do it,” Trump says. Melania said this week he did & she accepted it.

Clinton roasted Trump on his sex scandals, and completely destroyed his defenses.
Trump fired good shots at Clinton about the violence at his campaign rallies. Still waiting for her response.
“No one has more respect for women than I do.” — Trump
Clinton dodged Trump’s shots about her emails…
Clinton did well to deflect criticism of the Clinton Foundation onto the Trump Foundation.
Trump’s statement on the Trump Foundation is absolutely false. I can’t wait for a comprehensive fact-check.
Trump did well, asking Clinton why she doesn’t return the money donated to her Foundation by nations like Saudi Arabia and Qatar that discriminate against women. Clinton dodged the question and never answered.
GOLDEN CLINTON STATEMENT: Undocumented immigrants pay more in taxes than Donald Trump.
Clinton did well to attack Trump for failing to release his tax returns.
Let’s be honest – both candidates won, and both candidates lost, the fitness to be president segment because both of them are so unfit.
Trump refuses to say that he will accept the outcome of the election.
“Whenever something doesn’t go the way Donald wants, he says it’s rigged.”
Best quote of the night award goes to President Obama, who called Trump a whiner who needs to grow up, and who is unfit to be president.
Trump’s version of ISIS’s history is so revisionist it’s scary.
I’ll accept the results of the election … if I win

Iran is trying to take over Iraq? I think Trump meant ISIS was trying to take over Iraq. incompetency
Trump blatantly lied about his support for the Iraq War.
Good shot. Clinton rekt Trump when she said that she was taking out Osama bin Laden while he was still doing Celebrity Apprentice.
Total chaos – moderator, Trump, and Clinton all talking over each other right now.
Trump blames Clinton for Aleppo…
Good policy-centered question, looking for specifics about Clinton’s no-fly zone. 👏
Clinton is absolutely right on refugees. We need to thoroughly vet refugees, but we cannot completely stop them from coming in.
“Wait one second” – Trump to the moderator.
Trump’s statement on the national debt is so nonsensical, it’s sad.
Clinton is right – Trump is unacceptably narcissistic.
Mrs. Clinton – we can’t simply stop adding to the debt – we need to find ways to affirmatively deal with it, or else the accumulating interest will bury us.
“[Obamacare] will die of its own weight.” — Trump
Trump’s absolutely right. We need to repeal and replace Obamacare immediately. fullrepeal
Unprepared closing statements. Fun.
Hillary’s closing statement: more government, more government, more government.
Trump’s closing statement: I am so awesome, I am so very awesome, I am so very EXTREMELY awesome.
Initial impression: Trump won the debate, but he lost on the facts.
Over and out. Thanks for tuning in! Time to go vote.
